We are a Voice 21 Oracy School. This means that we use Oracy (talk) as a key part of our learning curriculum. Oracy is taught explicitly so that children become confident when articulating their ideas, disagreeing respectfully with their peers and being able to summarise the key points in a conversation. We have three Oracy Champions in school: Mrs Mason, Miss Fearnley and Miss Parker who attend training in London and in York to help us keep progressing in our understanding of giving St. Joseph's children the best tools to be confident speakers.
To find out more about our curriculum, you could ask your child's teacher in the first instance. Alternatively, you could speak to the subject leader as listed on each curriculum page.
